The first edition of a newspaper called TRABAJO (Work. 818. 911 published by the Communist group, made its appearance about a week ago. It carries a leading article on Karl Marx, several articles devoted to the laborers, articles favoring the Soviet Union, and one especially endeavoring to unite the students of Costa Rica with the labor element, of special interest to the local community is the article which appears in bola type on the first page, declaring that Fausto Peraza Escalante has been expelled from the Communist Party because he has been shown to be a traitor to the Cause and a traitor to the laboring class. Peraza is the individual referred to in my. 811. 42718 despatch No. 175 of September 19, 1930, who, as the protege of Carlos Thomson, resident Secretary in San José of The Fellowship of Reconciliation, went to the United States about a year ago to enter Brookwood College at Katonah, New York.
