Communist Party Not Recognized.
In a previous report stated that the Minister of Gobernación had refused to recognize the communist party as a legitimate party in Costa Rica. The matter was then brought before Congress, which on October 7th by a vote of 18 to 14 refused to recognize the communists as a political party. This means that they cannot put up any candidates in municipal, provincial or presidential elections. The leader of the communist group, Señor Manuel Mora Valverde, published in the newspapers this morning a statement to the effect that the communists in Costa Rica would continue to fight for the redemption of the human race and the political rights of mon oppres.
