y me NARS Date 24 18 IBERO AMERICANA DE ESTUDIANTES (CIADE. appears to be busily engaged in addressing meetings of laborers and is reported to have talked to a gathering of Jamaican negroes at Port Limon on the evening of Sunday, May 28th last. on May 26, 1933, Minister for Foreign Affairs Leonidas Pacheco called at the Legation to inform me that, if perceived no objection, Miss Zuaker would be deported to the United States on the 28th instant; that the costa Rican Government did not intend to permit her to incite the negroes at Limon against the Governments of the United States and Costa Rica. in this connection it may be stated that Miss Zuoker speaks little spanish and therefore cannot address the communist meetings in San José where little English is understood. She can, however, assist her communist comrades by addressing the negroes at Limón who understand little or no spanish and who have heretofore had little interest in communism. informed dr. Pacheco that 11 Miss Zucker fails to respect the hospitality of the Costa Rican Government and Its laws by attempting to cause class strife, could, of course, not complain of the action contemplated. However, Miss Zucker was not deported on May 28th. The local press has published the statement (the authenticity of which cannot be guaranteed) to the effect that unless she leaves the country voluntarily on June 4th, she will be deported on that date.
