Julio Padilla Romero, leader of the PARTIDO ACCION SOCIALISTA, who is seeking reelection, will probably be defeated, San José politicians predict. Padilla, a former follower of General Jorge Volio, has lately been attacked by practically every political group, including the Communists.
The PARTIDO BLOQUE DE OBREROS CAMPES INOS (Communists) have entered nine candidates in the Province of San José. First on the list is Manuel Mora Valverde, Secretary General of the Communist Party of Costa Rica, and it is considered possible that he may succeed in polling sufficient votes to reach the Congress.
Dr. Vicente Castro Cervantes (first cousin of Manuel Castro Quesada, former candidate for President. and Andrés Venegas García, the first and second candidates, respectively, on the list of the PARTIDO LIGA PATRIOTICA, are well and favorably known in this community. Both are hightype professional men, one a doctor of medicine and the other an attorney, but since neither of them February 1934 tirred Sack Leo are
