Sir: Referring to Despatch No. 221. of April 26, 1934, have the honor to report that May Day passed uneventfully and peacefully in Costa Rica. Members of the commnist organization escorted the two Communist deputies to the Congress when it convened at noon, sang the Internationale and dispersed. During the afternoon workers and Communists parades were held, in which marchers carried signs with such slogans as Down with Imperialism and Down with the Pan American Highway.
