The Honorable Ricardo Jiménez, President of the Republic, City.
Mr. President: The turn taken so rapidly by the strike and communistic movement in the banana region of the Limon Province led me to seek first hand information, which obtained, by making use of an air plane, this morning. have ascertained that the principal strikers centers are situated at the following points: One, with about 200, on the Goschen Lot. Los Angeles; another with 150, at the end of the Parismina Branch; another sonewhat smaller at El Cairo. and another, likewise not numerous, on the farns of Felipe Alvarado and Oscar Gutierrez. In the principal groups there are some individuals who are armed.
To be better understood, am taking the liberty of attaching herewith a map with the exact indications of these localities.
From my own observations consider the situation very delicate, and believe that it can be seriously aggravated if the Government does not terminate this movement by the means which the law places within its grasp. deem myself obliged by the loyalty which owe Costa Rica and its Government to make this statement, hoping that it may be considered as advice as to what the real situation is.
