DEC For the strictly confidential information of the Department have the honor to report suggestions which were made to me yesterday afternoon in this Legation by Mr. Chittenden, chief representative of the United Fruit Company in Cos ta Rica.
With the passage of the strike of banana laborers into the third week and following the decision of the United. Fruit Company not to attempt to cut any fruit whatsoever this weekend on its om plantations, Mr. Chittenden nervousness over the strike situation has greatly increased.
