DECLASSIRED REPRODUCED AT THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES Authority Stateletter Inhez By me ARS Cate 24 18 now in session, without a reply having been made. will appreci ate, however, receiving from the Department a ny information which may be available concerning the organizations signing the telegram for the information of the Costa Rican Cove ramen The protest against the shooting of Jaime Cerdas is in reference to the wounding of one of the leaders of the strike of ben ana workers in connection with the action of Colonel Gallegos against a group of the agitators, reported in the Legatiou Despatch No. 486 of September 13, 1934. The reference to the proceedings against Congressman Mo ra co no erns an investigation, whioh it is reported, is now being carried out in one of the lower courts at Port Limón, in connection with certain letters and do oumen ts seised in one of the Communist headquarters in the strike area, which according to press reports, indi cate that Mora was guilty of treason against the Government.
While the texts of these documents have not be en published, the question has been discussed in the press, and it has been suggested that Congress might proceed to the suspension of Deputy Mora, divesting him of his congressional immunity so as to permit proceedings against him in the courts for treason.
At the date of writing, however, Congress has taken no action concerning Mora.
