The Honorable The Secretary of State, Washington, Sir: have the honor to report that the Costa Rican Communist Party organized a demonstration in San José on May 1st.
Permission for the demonstration was granted by the Government in compliance with a request received from the Communist Party. There was no attempt at disorder, the demonstrators assembling peacefully at the Pacific Railway station in the afternoon and marching to one of the central plazas where speeches were
