In any event, the pupil Guzman, who went to moscow witi all expenses paid by the Soviet Government, has been of no service to tie party, in the sense, at least, of positive action on behalf of the Soviet Union.
It is alleged against the party, on the other hand, that it is receiving monetary and other support from the lexican Confederation of workers. At first sicht this would appear to be the case. The local party sent two representatives, José Luis Fullas and sirain Jiménez Guerrero, to the Latin American Labor Congress at lexico City, seventy five per cent. of their expenses being paid by the Congress and twenty five per cent. by the Conimunist Party of Costa Rica. The local party also receives correspondence irom one workers Confederation or Latin America.
Toleuano, president of the confederation, is much talked about amongst te rank and Tile of Communists in Costa Rica because of his reputed power in labor circles in Latin America.
It is not evident, however, that he has any outstanding influence on workers organizations in Costa Rica, and it is certain that José Luis Fallas and fraín Jiménez Guerrero are so completely dominated
