The manifesto then states that the progress of the new Party states clearly its position in relation to the probloms now troubling the Nicaraguan political situation, and gives the following points as proof: As a democratic workers party, the new party will work to promote democracy and liberty in Nicaragua, understanding by demoerasy a regine which will guarantee to the workers the rights of assembly, of organization, of strike, ete. As the socialist party that it is, the new party vi 11 work for the maintenance of National Unity. In consequence, it is not in accord with activities which tend to subvert the public order in Nic aragua, since such activities only lead to civil war without any definite guarantee of triumph for the democratic ideals of the people. The party considers in the present conditions in the war against the totalitardan
