Since the total membership of Congress will be forty six it would seem that the National Republican Party would have a clearout majority, but Government spokesmen say that such is not the case since Congressman PINAUD, although listed as a National Republican, is independent and unreliable. It will be seen, therefore, that the National Republican Party, while enjoying a plurality, does not in fact have a working majority. The first noteworthy result of the elections, then, is the decrease in representation of the National Republican Party from twenty seven Although Señor Cerdas ran on the National Republican Party ticket, he is in actuality a member of the Vanguardia Popular Party.
