Guardar

TOD ADV. Mora would accept Orlich for that position. Mora has stated that Orlich is not acceptable but will settle for Miguel Brenes; Figueres to take any other cabinet post of his own choice and the rest of the cabinet to be composed of Figueres men or non politicals. Mora does not ask for any cabinet posts for his own men. Padre Nunez doubts that Figueres will accept this arrangement and expects tomorrow final meeting to announce a failure of the negotiations. He has been prepared to fight Nicaragua allied with Calderon Guardia (i. e. SomozaCalderon alliance) even if Mora joins that unholy company, counting on Guatemalan help and Padre Nunez believes that he will go through with that intention with or without Vanguardia. mentioned to Padre Nunez that had heard that someone had bombed the airfield at Santa Ana today. He said he knew of that and also that the airfields at Limon and Cartago had been bombed and machine gunned. Mora had told him that all three attacks were made by Nicaraguan planes, they apparently mistaking Santa Ana for a Figueres field.
Padre Nunez had opened the conversation by saying that what he had to say was highly confidential and replied would keep it as such but hoped he understood that kept no confidences from my government.
