July 29, P. On the 24th instant. United States Senator Borah, a member of the Committee of Foreign Affairs of the Senate, telegraphed the President of Salvador requests ing to be furnished information respecting the progress that had been made for the realization of a Central American union, and what effect the treaty with Nicaragua would have thereon, which data President Melendez informed me last Saturday he had forwarded to Senator Borah in the form of a memorandum by, the mail which left San Salvador on that day. shall forward by next Saturday mail a copy and translation of that memoranda, so the Department that, may be in possession of the same information by the time or even before the Senate Committee of Foreign Affairs can have its copy translated.
