The inadequacy of local tuition is largely responsible for this oust on; but it is most regrettable fact th:t a goJourn or two years, or even less, in our country, is generally considered ample for the Central Anerican Student.
The timo allotted is quite insuficient for any serious course of study.
The pupils leave for the wtates in ignorance of our language and frequently without any previous form of preparation; 102 ny return with a superficial knowledge of English, and in case of the boys, with a perverted taste for all the vices and sumusemonts of their richer american confréres.
Reasonable advance preparation and a knowledge of English would facilitate their progress hore and make their 30 journs more agreeable and beneficial to all concerned.
Reference will be made later to what might be done to supply this advance preparation.
In
