HOTELS IN CENTRAL AMERICA.
When an American contemplates a trip to LatinAmerica, whether it be to the Carribean, Central America or the South American countries, one of the first things he does is to enquire about living conditions. The Americans, generally, are good livers.
So accustomed have we become to a rather high standard in our methods of living that the first cold blanket on a trip to the Latin American countries comes when one is informed that there are no hotels (with rare exceptions) in ARCHIVES Latin America of the kind to which we are accustomed. OF THE but that the public hosteleries are little more than THE 39 boarding houses, rarely kept by Americans, and nearly always in the hands of French, Germans, Italians or other foreigners.
These so called hotels are entirely inadequate in their accommodation, but the inexperienced traveler is willing to take a chance, and might devote a couple of hours to describing the real conditions which exist.
For example, the hotels in Mexico, Guatemala, Salvador and Honduras.
Below that, in Costa Rica, there is one rather good hotel, and in Panama, thanks to our Government, there is ample hotel accommodation.
