Index Bureau RECEIVED MAY 25 1927; nep t, of State 2CHIVES ef Colonel Wainwright called on his return from Central America and showed me a copy of this document and 711. 12 16 Y11, 13 76 said that he was sending it to the President, although INDEX BUREAU he thought it contained comparatively little of real interest. agreed with his judgment and he went on to say that in his conversation with Secretary Matos the Secretary had spoken much more freely and interestingly but that when Colonel Wainwright asked him to write out in a memorandum what he had said the Secretary produced a document which did not in any way reflect his conversation and was totally lacking in interest.
