This strange incident occurred at Brussels sometime ago when conductor Van Hoe while conducting an orchestra at a concert in Ghent, gave or ders that the funeral march should be played; this order was not readily obeyed as it appeared so strange to the members of the orchestra, but after some hesitation, they yielded te the request.
While the last notes of the composition were being played, the conductor was seen from the audience to drop his baton and fall to the ground. It was customary for him to suffer from heart trouble and the immediate attention of the Doctors was summoned but proved useless; the presence of mind which he pas sessed when he felt his last moment was approaching, is worthy of admiration THE IDEAL PHARMACY Wm. de Sousa, Prop.
