Slowly but surely Negroes are taking to the air. Almost every week now there are news reports of young Negroes here and there graduating from aviation schools and flying their planes about the country. Of course there are less than a dozen of our folk qualified to fly right now, but that is enough to make a start and show that we are at home in all elements and endeavors.
Much of the swift transportation of the future fill be in the air. Already transcontinental air lines belt the country and there is an airport in almost every town of any size. Skilled aviators, meteorologists and mechanics will be in demand in increasing numbers, especially the latter. Those who get in the game now will be on top ten years from now, and probably sooner.
There are a number of good aviation schools scattered about the country and except in the South Negro students if not ex actly welcome are at least given instruction just like other students. It is to be hoped that more young colored men and women will avail themselves of the opportunity to enter this fascinating new industry while it is still young. That statement, of course, was the palaver of a Scientific nincompoop, and it gained for him the well deserved appellation, Ignorant Pathologist.
We belic. e that if comparisons are to be made amongst mankind, they must be made on a basis of common sense and reason backed up by facts not of fabulous creation. Anyone whose brain is not made of papaya knows that one person is superior to another by reason of superiority of training to which he has responded; by being in possession of more wealth which makes his circumstance in life superior; by being the occupant of a position of authority over another in an inferior position, etc. etc. These are mere circumstances, and they have absolutely nothing to do with pigment or race. The argument that one is superior to another on the basis of color or race is a monstrous lie, never to be forgiven on earth, or elsewhere. It is being used by the Superiority Complex fraternity to break the spirits of the ambitious and aspiring man and woman whose skins are dark, so they will accept the Inferiority Complex proposition, and be kept in perpetual subjugation. These bugaboos have been, and are still the cause of universal unrest, racial antipathy, and social spleen. The sooner this false philosophy be withdrawn, the sooner will the talk about universal peace assume a practical aspect.
But if it is not withdrawn, then it is up to the man of color to rise up and assert himself, body, soul, and spirit and reject the Inferiority complex theory completely.
It is the duty of the adult generations of present day colored people to kill this bugaboo before posterity grows up to accept it. The onus is on them to teach their youth that it is the circumstance which alters the case on this planet. Not skin, nor the color of it. And may be, these (skin and color) might have something to do with the establishment of quality when they come in contact with the fires of hell! But not before!

Most people suffer to some extent from some variation of this malady and are thus mentally crippled instead of being strong and stalwart.
Are you so afflicted? Examine yourself. Diagnose your case and then seek the remedy: the care is mental as well as the discase.

seems it has been so since man existence upon this earth, for we have read in history of their early existence, and we have, in our day, felt their influence.
These bugaboos are. a) SUPERIORITY COMPLEX, and (b) INFERIORÍTY COMPLEX. Of them, we have heard over much, and they seem highly treasured by the two classes who are worshippers of them.
The people of the Superiority Complex are those who are obsessed with the idea that on account of race and pigment, they are, ipso facto, superior to others of another race and pigment. Those who accept this falsity as a sort of dictum are they who are of the Inferiority Complex Now, both these complexes are mythical. And both classes of adherents are worshippers before a diety that does not exist. Both theories are disproved by Religion, Science, and Common Sense. Religion tells us that all men are made (created) of one flesh and blood. Science concurs by being unable, despite its most rigid and technical application, to discover any error in the religious pronouncement. And Common Sense revolts against the acceptation of a theory which is manifestly fabulous.
But although the truth of the matter is so obvious, we find that rebellious man insists upon the exercise of a right he does not possess. Even the religious man seems to fall prey to complexes. At any rate, his conduct in some cases justifies us in making the statement.
In this connection, we observe that two services are held in some places set aapart for religious worship at different hours of the same day. At one service, only persons of a certain pigment attend. At the other service, the same is the case in regard to pigment. If it be said that this is not the Superiority Inferiority Complex business, then we ask to be informed what it is.
Again, Scientific duffers have tried to establish proof of the existence of these same bugaboos. For instance. Some time ago, a post mortem examination was held on the body of a dead Colored man by someone who was styled a Pathologist. After the examination, this Pathologist had the temerity to make the statement that, the brain of this colored man was equal to that of the lowest type of white man, and superior to that of the highest type of Negro, or some such fiddle de dee.
