When it is remembered that on the presidential tiokat the National Republioans and Vanguardia voted jointly for Dr. Calderon, the extent of the foregoing fraud be como immediately apparent.
Attention is especially invited to anolosure (page to de spatch No. 98, dated March 1, 1948, from this Embassy, which was a translation of the final report of the originai Electoral Tribunal. In this report, the National Union (Opposition) party was awarded a total of 54, 931 votes and the National Republican party was awarded 438 votes in so far as it concerned the presidential elections.
